Review: Optiva Aqua-Capture Serum and Nourishing Night Cream

So firstly my skin type is dry/normal. I'm prone to hormonal breakouts. Every time I get a pimple it scars whether or not I've popped it (gross I know). So my main issue are my scars. But like I mentioned I do have somewhat dry skin and I really do feel like these have helped with my dry patches and preventing my skin from flaking.

1. Optiva Aqua-Capture Serum
30ml $24

"This super concentrated skin hydrating serum has a light formulation, which is easy to apply and works deep into the skin. The serum strengthens the skin barrier in just two weeks improving its tolerance for the long term. Specially formulated to offer an immediate comforting and calming effect. Apply after cleansing and before moisturising both morning and night. Clinically proven to reveal healthier skin in just two weeks."

Overall I think this is a really nice serum, but honestly I'm not really a serum girl and this product hasn't converted me. I feel like it's an unnecessary step. But if serums are your thing, this is a good one to try. It's very light, thin and spreads over the skin really well and sinks in really quickly.

Rating: 3/5 (it is nice I just don't fancy serums)

2. Optiva Nourishing Night Cream
40ml $22

"A rich moisturising night cream that absorbs easily to help restore skin overnight. The rich, nourishing formula works whilst the skin is at rest to leave it feeling refreshed, soft and smooth. Nourishing Night Cream contains althaea officialis extract together with other moisturising ingredients to strengthen and nourish while you sleep."

I really really like this moisturiser it's thick and cooling when you first apply it. I love it. It sinks into the skin beautifully and I feel like it's made my skin slightly softer. I will say that when you first apply it there is a scent (which I find unnecessary in face creams) and it lingers until you finish rubbing it in. The scent is difficult to describe, it's just very perfumey.

Rating: 4/5

The Boots Laboratories Optiva range is suitable for sensitive skin, is hypoallergenic and paraben free.

    1. Thank you. I'm not that great a writer. So that means a lot. I've been blogging because I like reading other people's blogs and just thought I could put my two cents in too.

Haul: Mecca

Honestly you're probably sick of seeing hauls on my blog right? But I just love hauls.  First...story time. I seriously can't remember where I first saw it but when I did, I knew I had to have it.  The colours were so beautiful, the packaging was so chic and the value for money was just too good. Plus with Mecca now trying to compete with Sephora (coming soon to Australia) I knew the Australian price would be somewhat reasonable.  It is...wait for it...the Nars Virtual Domination Cheek palette.  First I tried buying it off spacenk which is an England based company (if I'm not mistaken) but sadly they don't ship Nars products to Australia (what a bummer). Then I was looking up reviews to determine if this was something I really really really wanted. And so the obsession began. I sussed out when it was coming to Australia then stalked the Mecca page for about 4-5 days (not even gonna lie), it finally popped up and I added it straight to my ...

So sorry my followers and readers I've deleted my post because I don't want to be associated with this company. I hope you all forgive me and from now on I will trust my instincts and if the company seems dodgy I'll let you all know.  http://www.bloglovin.com/frame?post=2506729123&group=0&frame_type=a&blog=3328770&link=aHR0cDovL2NyZWF0aXZlLWQtemluZS5ibG9nc3BvdC5jb20vMjAxNC8wMy9kcmVzc2FsZS13aXNoLWxpc3Qtbm90LWxlZ2l0Lmh0bWw&frame=1&click=0&user=0
