Review: Optiva Aqua-Capture Serum and Nourishing Night Cream

So firstly my skin type is dry/normal. I'm prone to hormonal breakouts. Every time I get a pimple it scars whether or not I've popped it (gross I know). So my main issue are my scars. But like I mentioned I do have somewhat dry skin and I really do feel like these have helped with my dry patches and preventing my skin from flaking.

1. Optiva Aqua-Capture Serum
30ml $24

"This super concentrated skin hydrating serum has a light formulation, which is easy to apply and works deep into the skin. The serum strengthens the skin barrier in just two weeks improving its tolerance for the long term. Specially formulated to offer an immediate comforting and calming effect. Apply after cleansing and before moisturising both morning and night. Clinically proven to reveal healthier skin in just two weeks."

Overall I think this is a really nice serum, but honestly I'm not really a serum girl and this product hasn't converted me. I feel like it's an unnecessary step. But if serums are your thing, this is a good one to try. It's very light, thin and spreads over the skin really well and sinks in really quickly.

Rating: 3/5 (it is nice I just don't fancy serums)

2. Optiva Nourishing Night Cream
40ml $22

"A rich moisturising night cream that absorbs easily to help restore skin overnight. The rich, nourishing formula works whilst the skin is at rest to leave it feeling refreshed, soft and smooth. Nourishing Night Cream contains althaea officialis extract together with other moisturising ingredients to strengthen and nourish while you sleep."

I really really like this moisturiser it's thick and cooling when you first apply it. I love it. It sinks into the skin beautifully and I feel like it's made my skin slightly softer. I will say that when you first apply it there is a scent (which I find unnecessary in face creams) and it lingers until you finish rubbing it in. The scent is difficult to describe, it's just very perfumey.

Rating: 4/5

The Boots Laboratories Optiva range is suitable for sensitive skin, is hypoallergenic and paraben free.

    1. Thank you. I'm not that great a writer. So that means a lot. I've been blogging because I like reading other people's blogs and just thought I could put my two cents in too.

Review: ColorBurst Lipstick in Petal and Peach

Claim: "Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick has a formula that feels weightless on the lips. It includes innovative pigments that delivers high impact colour in one swipe. The elasticolour formulation is designed to distribute rich colour pigments evenly over the lips and allows for a comfortable feel. The formula is also enriched with moisturisers and antioxidants such as sweet almond oil to improve lip texture and prevent drying." (from www.beautyheaven.com.au)

Packaging: Love, Love, Love. It's gorgeous. The quilted pattern, the tops (showing quite an accurate representation of the colour) and the way REVLON is embossed on the lpstick itself, reminds me of high-end packaging.

Formula: They are smooth and easy to apply. The colour payoff is actually quite sheer, so to get good coverage you need to really build it up and if you have more pigmented lips then your lip colour will definitely show through. Even with my medium pigmented lips, my natural lip colour shows through.

Empties: #3 (Skincare)

As a reference I have combination skin. Non sensitive and not acne prone.

1. Biore Revitalise 4-in-1 Self Foaming Cleanser This is my second bottle of this cleanser. I love it. For the first few uses it tingles slightly on the skin which I love however the tingling does stop after using the product for a while. It makes my face feel clean without being tight.
Would I repurchase? Definitely
2. Warming Anti-Blackhead Cream Cleanser  This did NOTHING for me. I have blackheads all around my nose and this did nothing to diminish them. The product itself doesn't warm up for long, the heat last for around 10 seconds and really doesn't do anything. It has very, very small exfoliating beads (ingredients) but personally I prefer something a bit more rough because this one just did nothing for me.
Would I repurchase? Definitely no
3. Garnier Clean Sensitive 2 in 1 Gentle Make-up Remover Love, Love, Love. This is really good value for an awesome makeup remover. I only use this for my eye make…

Haul: Mecca

Honestly you're probably sick of seeing hauls on my blog right? But I just love hauls.

First...story time. I seriously can't remember where I first saw it but when I did, I knew I had to have it. The colours were so beautiful, the packaging was so chic and the value for money was just too good. Plus with Mecca now trying to compete with Sephora (coming soon to Australia) I knew the Australian price would be somewhat reasonable. It is...wait for it...the Nars Virtual Domination Cheek palette.

First I tried buying it off spacenk which is an England based company (if I'm not mistaken) but sadly they don't ship Nars products to Australia (what a bummer). Then I was looking up reviews to determine if this was something I really really really wanted. And so the obsession began. I sussed out when it was coming to Australia then stalked the Mecca page for about 4-5 days (not even gonna lie), it finally popped up and I added it straight to my cart, clicked buy, and so the waiti…
